I started playing around with my county pages today and before I knew the day was gone. It's so much fun to get like that but time disappears. It's the details that catch me up and I want to keep working on them till I get them perfect. And I want to do it now!

Housework, cleaning and cooking, and daily tasks don't have the same feeling. I have dishes in the sink to do and I haven't really finished packing, though I have it pretty well done. I did go to the store to get a few things, but mainly I just worked on my web pages.

I get obsessive about other things but I do it most on my web pages. Maybe this is why I've been able to stop cold on smoking. I don't even really think about it anymore. I guess we all have obsessions, but we need to channel them into something harmless. Some people collect stamps and others jump out of airplanes. I don't understand how people can get caught up into sports and don't understand how people can shop all the time.

They don't understand how I can enjoy traveling by bus or staying in hostels. I want just a small studio while others can't imagine not having a house to spend all their time working on. There are few people more obsessive than people who want the perfect house and garden. I would love a nice garden but I won't give up other things for it and that's what an obsession is.

What I need to watch for is that obsessions don't take over my life. Even the most harmless obsession can become harmful if there is nothing else to our life. We need to make ourselves do things outside of our obsession. When an obsession is an ideology is when it becomes dangerous, because no part of your life can ever be outside of your obsession.
