Special Interest Whining

I have such a hard time with special interest groups about not having a car since I join groups, including internet groups (listservs, forums, discussion groups, etc.) to find out how other people handle not having a car but what I mainly get is whining about how the government needs to do more for us. We all think the government doesn't do enough for what we are interested in but that's not why I join groups.

I've joined walking groups to talk about the joy of walking and I get whining about how no one appreciates pedestrians. True, but that's not what I'm after. I've just about given up finding a special interest group that doesn't exist mainly to get political perks. I guess I'm more interested in what is and how to work with it than just complaining. Not that expecting decent treatment is wrong but I don't walk because its politically correct but because I enjoy walking. I take the bus because I enjoy taking the bus. If I didn't I would work harder at getting a car. Doesn't anyone walk just for the joy and pleasure of walking?

I am coming down with a cold. My throat hurts, my nose is running and I feel feverish. Luckily the nose running held off till I left work, for the most part, since I had a presentation to do this afternoon and blowing your nose constantly is not very appealing to your audence.

I'm sitting here unable to even finish my minimal supper since nothing tastes good and drooling over a lamb stew that Jamie Oliver is making on food tv. I do like lamb. It's a nostalgic thing since my mother used to make lamb curry. I think it was the british version of indian curry but it was still very good.
